The PortalPlayer Hardware Engineering Group designs, develops and deploys state-of-the-art software and applications that support digital music devices. It is a demanding responsibility requiring hardware/software application engineering and working with multi-vendor software and hardware.

Requirements: Position requires a Masters degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 7+ years of experience. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, proven leadership track record and the ability to adapt towards working in a cross cultural work environment. Other requirements include:

• Main interface between the Hardware and Firmware teams
• Excellent HW/SW debugging skills
• Thorough understanding of embedded micro-controllers like ARM, 8051 is a must
• Should have done post-silicon validation of SoCs/ASICs
• Strong C/C++ experience. Should have done assembly level programming
• Preferable knowledge of AMBA Bus architecture
• Should have used In-Circuit emulators, Compilers, Debuggers as part of embedded system development
• Versatile in using hardware debug equipments like Logic Analyzers and Oscilloscopes
• Good hardware understanding. Verilog knowledge a must
• Preferable FPGA experience
• Experience in scripting languages like Perl/Awk/SED preferable
