The PortalPlayer Hardware Engineering Group designs, develops and deploys state-of-the-art software and applications that support digital music devices. It is a demanding responsibility requiring hardware/software application engineering and working with multi-vendor software and hardware.

Requirements: Position requires a Masters degree in Engineering with 5+ years of experience OR Bachelor's degree in Engineering with 7+ years of experience. The candidate should have excellent communication skills, proven leadership track record and the ability to adapt towards working in a cross cultural work environment. Other requirements include:

• Define design specifications in collaboration with other team members
• Strong logic design and verification skills
• RTL coding using Verilog. Verilog knowledge a must. Good debugging skills
• Functional verification using logic simulation
• Knowledge of Code coverage tools & analysis
• Understanding of embedded micro-controllers like ARM, 8051 is a must
• Preferable knowledge of AMBA Bus architecture
• Should have done prototype validation using FPGA platforms
• Knowledge of Synthesis and scan insertion
• Preferable post-silicon validation experience of SoCs/ASICs
• C/C++ experience. Should have done assembly level programming
• Should have good experience in coding Verilog PLIs
• Should have used ICE, Compilers, and Debuggers as part of embedded development
• Versatile in using hardware debug equipments like Logic Analyzers and Oscilloscopes
