Program Manager

The PortalPlayer Application and Firmware Engineering Group designs, develops and deploys state of the art applications that support digital music devices. Its a demanding responsibility requiring hardware/software application engineering and multi-vendor relationship management. Your task is to manage complex programs for Application Engineering. This includes performing the program management role for scoping, planning, engineering and removing roadblocks impeding development. If its a problem, you solve it. Work with engineering, sales, and marketing, outside vendors or whomever to get it solved. This may include any or all of the following:

Engineering

  • Develop and own program schedules
  • Responsible for team meeting goals and objectives
  • Develop and maintain specification documents
  • Manage and motivate teams of engineers
  • Deal with third parties for contractual obligations
  • Resolve issues that impact schedule or functionality of product
  • Providing status to management
  • Reporting to Senior Program Manager
  • Assisting with development and implementation of standardized product life cycle methodologies throughout engineering
  • Ensuring staff uses quality standards

Marketing Support

  • Ensure customer requirements are met by products
  • Assist with Benchmark testing
  • Assist with identification of opportunities consistent with product capabilities
  • Support the tracking and giving advise on evolving/developing related technologies

Sales Support

  • Track customer support activities
  • Ensure engineering solves customer problems identified by sales staff
  • Assist with troubleshooting customer problems
  • Assist with product demonstrations
  • Assist with tpmgr.htmlraining sales staff on product training
  • Assist with trade shows and seminars

If you have a Engineering/Science BS degree or Business Management; can show 2-5 years relevant experience; love to work in ad-hoc teams; good written and verbal communications; and are an out side the box thinker then PortalPlayer may be the place for you.
