Gordon A. Campbell

After founding and operating numerous Silicon Valley technology companies, Gordon Campbell founded Techfarm to create a new model for early and expansion stage technology start-ups that would partner cutting edge technologies with seasoned managerial and financial experience. In his thirty-year career, Mr. Campbell has held positions in engineering, sales, marketing and management at Honeywell, Intersil and Motorola. He developed, implemented and managed much of Intel's marketing efforts prior to founding and incubating the start-up of many companies, the most notable of which are SEEQ Technology, CHIPS and Technologies, Inc., and 3dfx Interactive.

           Mr. Campbell has been recognized by Inc. Magazine as Entrepreneur of the Year for his achievements and by major business and technology publications as a leading pioneer in high-technology. He is considered a driving force in the evolution of the semiconductor, personal computer, networking, and the internet sectors. Most notably, Mr. Campbell has pioneered many technological innovations, including the world's first ethernet chip, the world's first electrically erasable microcomputer, the first PC on a chip, the first IBM-compatible graphics controller for personal computers, and the invention of the chipset upon which all personal computers are built today -- currently over 100 million per year. Additionally, Mr. Campbell is known as the father of the fabless semiconductor industry, a model which is now used by thousands of companies and represents 10% of the semiconductor industry or 15 billion dollars of revenue per year. He currently serves as Chairman of the Board of Directors at numerous portfolio companies. He also serves on other Boards of Directors including 3Com Corporation and Bell Micro.

Prior to founding PortalPlayer, he was the Chief Technology Officer at National Semiconductor. At National he was responsible for the analysis and recommendation of advanced technologies and setting the strategic direction for the Company. Prior to this, he was Director of World Wide Marketing for the Personal Systems Group and headed the Advanced Architecture group. In this capacity he formed the team that spearheaded National's emergence into the Information Appliance market segment. Prior to National, he worked at Digital Equipment Corporation as Hardware Engineering Manager for the Mobile Products Group that delivered the worlds first one-inch portable the DEC Ultra Highnote and was with Norand Corporation as a Product Line Manager for the Handheld Wireless Division. John holds several patents in the areas of power management and portable design. The Smithsonian museum has on display the portable, which John was project lead when he headed up the design team for Zenith Data Systems. John holds a BSEE from Lawrence University and a MSEE from Johns Hopkins University. 

Carolyn J. Kantor is Senior Vice President of MP3.com, one of the most popular internet sites that is pioneering a revolutionary approach to the promotion and distribution of music. The company is also recognized as the premier online Music Service Provider (MSP), allowing users to access, manage and listen to their personal music collection anytime, anywhere, on any web-enabled device or application. Ms. Kantor leads the company's Strategic Transactions Group which is responsible for identifying, structuring and executing the Company's strategic investments, significant partnerships and joint ventures in both the U.S. and abroad. She also represents MP3.com on the Board of Directors of Portal Player, Inc., one of its strategic investments. She brings extensive investment-related expertise to MP3.com, having worked at two financial institutions, having been a founding partner and President of an investment advisory firm and having structured and invested in several private equity transactions in the U.S. and Europe on behalf of many high-profile and high net worth individuals. Her additional experience includes strategic planning and business plan consulting for such clients as the Anderson School at U.C.L.A. as well as successfully launching a New Zealand consumer product in the U.S., Canada, Mexico and Europe. Ms. Kantor received her undergraduate degree in computer science from Brandeis University and her M.B.A. in finance and entrepreneurial studies from the Anderson School of Management at U.C.L.A., where she also won the 1988 Business Plan Competition. She also became a California registered investment advisor in 1996.
