video team lead
Location(s): Kirkland, WA
PortalPlayer is looking to fill a hands-on leadership position
in the Audio-Imaging-Video Team. Qualified candidate will lead
a team of engineers developing AIV solutions for our next generation
handheld devices. Candidate will be responsible for team leadership
and mentoring, project definition and scheduling, and hands-on
development where necessary.
Requirements:
- Experience managing development teams of 2-10 members.
- Experience managing multiple simultaneous development projects,
including scheduling and risk analysis/mitigation.
- Knowledgeable about video decoding and encoding algorithms,
AV stream de-multiplexor, AV synch and video post processing.
- Hands on experience on system level integration, performance
and power optimization, problem resolution of Audio/Video products
using one or more following codecs: JPEG, MPEG2, MPEG4, WMV
and H.264.
- Experience on development of AV media player on embedded platform,
with DSP and assembly programming is critical.
- Experience in developing image and video post-processing algorithms
will be highly beneficial (de-interlacing, frame-rate conversions,
de-blocking filtering, flicker-reduction, etc).
- Experience on Audio codecs like MP3, WMA, AAC, AC3 or others
will be added advantage.
- Experience in the power, performance and other systems aspect
of embedded platform development - RTOS, inter- and multi-processor
communications.
- Education: MS in Electrical Engineering with 7 years
experience or PhD with 5 years experience.
