program manager (customer programs group)

The PortalPlayer Customer Program Group enables customers in development of their digital media devices. PPI provides support with training, hardware reviews and firmware and software development. It is a demanding responsibility managing Customer Programs and overseeing their hardware/firmware/software development.

The individual will be responsible for tracking the progress, development plans/schedules and working with other groups within PortalPlayer, customer development teams and any third party development organizations located around the world. You will report directly to the Director, Customer Programs.

This position requires experience with customer management, hardware/firmware and software development. This position also requires strong working experience with worldwide customers, third parties and company organizations.

Requirements:

Must have worked with consumer electronic products
Must have strong working knowledge of hardware/firmware and software development
Must have excellent Program Management experience
Must know how to do risk management and abatements
Must know product development life cycles
Able to work with diverse worldwide teams
Familiarity with music, audio, speech and other digital media applications
Concept of Graphical User Interface Design (GUI) for multi-media applications
Must have experience in developing product requirements
Ability to define and track trends with respect to third parties
Education: Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Business or related field, or equivalent experience
