Responsibilities
Temporary Position - lasting 3-4 months.
Provide technical assistance to engineers with consumer audio product Printed Circuit Board bring-up process. Hands-on use of hardware and software tools. Exposure to all aspects of design cycle.
Requirements
- Board inspection, visual and microscope, to ensure proper assembly and parts placement after assembly.
- Minor board rework to correct assembly or logic errors - work with technician and perform soldering rework.
- Reading Schematics and checking signal continuity to verify signals layout - use of Digital Volt Meter and schematic/layout SW tools.
- Initial board bring-up:
- verifying voltage regulator circuitry, using DVM and scopes.
- verify reset circuitry.
- verify signal integrity as required (using oscilloscope).
- Firmware function verification: Use of In-Circuit Emulator tools to download FW and verify firmware functionality. Learn use of ICE for debug of HW. Little or no software modification required; if candidate is fluent in C++ coding, possibility of some HW driver modifications.
- Must be willing to learn basic soldering practices.
General knowledge of basic hardware design and software tools a plus. Experience using a DVM, oscilloscope, schematic capture tools (e.g. OrCAD) reading board layout plots and ability to solder. Familiarity with C/C++ and software tools beneficial.
AS degree in Engineering, or equivalent work experience.
