The PortalPlayer Firmware/Software Engineering Group designs, develops and deploys state-of-the-art firmware/software and applications that support digital music devices. It is a demanding responsibility requiring hardware/software application engineering and working with multi-vendor software and hardware.

Requirements: The position requires a 6+ years of embedded software experience in Multi Media Entertainment Domain. The candidate should be a good team player, with good analytical and problem solving skills with positive attitude and excellent written and oral communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret Product Requirements and deliver SW architecture independently
• Design and develop highly portable, robust multimedia modules
• Partition SW and Firmware interfaces and functionality.
• Ensure that the implementation meets all the architectural requirements

Skill Sets

• Must have 6+ years of embedded software experience in Multi Media Entertainment Domain
• Solid track record of delivering products and applications through the full product lifecycle
• Proficient in multimedia system software design, development and debug
• Extreme programming skills in C/C++ and Assembly
• Work experience in OpenGL and/or DirectX development
• In-depth knowledge of low-level 2D/3D rendering techniques (algorithms, mapping, textures, etc.)
• Understanding of audio, image, and video processing fundamentals
• Architectural knowledge of ARMv6 and above is a plus
• Code optimizing for vectored accelerators and/or multi-processor expertise is a plus
• Good working knowledge of real time operating systems, multiprogramming concepts
