The PortalPlayer Firmware/Software Engineering Group designs, develops and deploys state-of-the-art firmware/software and applications that support digital music devices. It is a demanding responsibility requiring hardware/software application engineering and working with multi-vendor software and hardware.

Requirements: The position requires a Masters Degree in Engineering with over 3 years of experience or a Bachelor's Degree in Engineering with over 5 years of experience. The candidate should be a good team player, with good analytical and problem solving skills, positive attitude and excellent communication skills. Other requirements include:

• Strong in C, C++ and OOD Concepts
• Ability to understand, design and implement Effective embedded solutions
• Knowledge on ARM processor and micro controllers
• Good Debugging Skills
• Experience in Device Drivers implementation for embedded systems
• Experience in Board Support packages (BSP) and has the ability to do board bring up and Debug
• Application/Middleware Development for Real Time Systems
• Prior Experience in working with any RTOS – WinCE, VxWorks, Nucleus etc.
• Experience in working with consumer electronics devices.

Desirable:

• Audio/Video codec driver development experience. ADC driver, DAC driver for audio/video
• FAT file system and media storage devices(IDE/MMC/SDMMC/NAND/Flash/CE-ATA) drivers experience
• System software development & protocol stac
